Motivational Clip
I found an awesome video on www.Achieveezine.com. It’s one of those chest pump kind of videos. Very motivating with good music and quotes. The photography is also phenomenal. I enjoyed it!

Quote of the Day - May 15th 2008
Accountability and Perfectionism
I have been venturing into the depths of perfectionism over the past few weeks, doing a bit of reading, but looking inwards more than anything. Being a perfectionist, as something I’ve mentioned before, is not necessarily a negative thing, but the non-action driven perfectionism that I exhibit is not very beneficial.
While on my journey to make perfection a strength rather than weakness, I realized something last night that has really expanded my knowledge and understanding of perfectionism and using it for your greater good. Last night I explored the idea of accountability and how it relates to perfectionism. For clarification sake, I use the term accountability to mean taking responsibility for your actions. I never realized until last night that these two ideas work hand-in-hand together and if used in unison, can be of benefit to you.
As a perfectionist, I was always afraid to start projects and try new things because I expected myself to do everything perfect during the first attempt. It’s safe to say that I don’t feel I am allowed to make mistakes; one of the beliefs I am trying to let go of. What is unique is accountability adds a little twist to all of this. When I do try something new and it doesn’t work out, I begin to stop trying and I pretend to myself that it doesn’t matter that I do well or not. I realized I do not take accountability for my failures.
I feel that taking accountability and responsibility for your actions is important step towards acceptance of reality and yourself. I think of it as that necessary step towards making you and your life much fuller. I never thought this way though. I used to think that accepting the present moment for what it was meant that I would be allowing what I didn’t want to happen become real to me. This is what I’d like to call denial and taking responsibility is at the forefront of all of this.
It was such a revelation for me to realize on my own that, 1) you are allowed to make mistakes and 2) when you do make mistakes, acknowledge them for what they are and take responsibility. If you do not feel you can make mistakes though, you will never be able to reach part to and acknowledge and make yourself accountable for them either. So you can’t really be one thing without the other ultimately.
Now I’m going through the process of not taking life so seriously and telling myself it’s okay to make mistakes. I noticed that when I begin to release my grip on being perfect, it is easier for me to take responsibility for my actions. When I begin to make myself accountable for myself, I notice that I change my behaviours more easily because I realize that if I want A, I have to do the work in order to achieve it.
*Pat on the back*
To wrap everything up, I’ve learned you enjoy life if you don’t take it so seriously. So take it easy and laugh a little more than you did yesterday. (Don’t those fake vector donuts look scrumptious?)

Nerd’s Creations and Facebook
I’m trying a new method of promotion for Nerd’s Creations. I’ve been reading a bit about Web 2.0 and the Social Marketing concept. Since I have a personal Facebook page, I decided to Create a Page for Nerd’s Creations.
I made it yesterday and have been playing around with it since then. I really like the idea of it because there is so much you can do and play around with the possibilities are endless. When you go on www.Facebook.com, and click to see your pages, you’re sent directly to a page showing your page views. Just yesterday I had seven clicks and I didn’t send out announcements or anything. Facebook users just happened to find my Facebook Page.
On your page, you have default applications that you can use. For example, you have applications such as your Wall, Notes, Reviews, Photos and Videos. You are not limited to these either. You can also add other applications that were developed by Facebook and third party groups. Say for example you own a restaurant, you can add an application that allows customers to make orders online. I unfortunately have not been able to find any applications that deal with my industry, but this is only my second day so I’ll keep going. If you can’t find any that are helpful for you, Facebook allows you to upload your own application for use. I don’t know the process of submitting your own application, but I do know it’s possible.
They also offer Facebook Ads. It seems you can target your customers very well with all of the Facebook Ads options, but I have never put up an ad myself. Last year I had thought of putting up my own ad, but I do not feel that I am ready to put ads up. I want to learn more about marketing before I spend money for ads. I’m still trying to work with SEO techniques, so putting up ads will be something I do much later on.
So overall, I’d say it would be a good idea to just give it a go. I’ll be updating my progress to see if it is worth it or not. I’m convinced though that done the right way with enough persistence you will be able to find many new customers, so I’m just going to keep up with this.

Quote Share Time!
A few weeks ago I discovered a nice little Motivational Quotes website called www.BeyondTheQuote.com. I thought it was nice, quaint and filled with some very nice uplifting quotes from a lot of very wise individuals.
I never really noticed how much of a gem it was until I began to poke around the site to see what it had to offer. I realized it had much more than I expected and I spend everyday on the site.
What’s really nice is this site hit something I was just recently thinking about doing; making positive and motivational desktops and mini videos. This site basically has it all, quotes, desktops, videos and audio.
I’ve enjoyed it thoroughly and I’m sure a few of you will as well. If you’ve found other sites similar to this, post it in a comment for everyone to enjoy!

The Seven Wonders of the World
Passive Income Update
I am proud to announce that on March 1st 2008 this blog began for the first time to receive revenue. The mode in which the revenue was earned was via Smart Link Marketing, aka Text links. As you can see to your right, there is a text link ad.
For the month of March, the total revenue accrued was $1.48.
For the month of April, the total revenue accrued was $6.37.
This month’s projected total revenue accrued is $6.37.
I am very glad that I am beginning to receive revenue. It’s pretty exciting really. For the past few months I had been thinking of taking the blog down and moving it to a free server because school has been getting expensive. This money is a bit of a motivator, so now I won’t be paying $10 a month for my service, but more like $3.63. The smaller that number gets, the better.
Take it easy guys!

OKC Memorial Half Marathon Update
Well guys, on April 27th 2008 I ran my first ever Half Marathon in Oklahoma City. It was a great experience and I’ve already started training for next year. My primary goal was to finish the race and my secondary goal was to finish the race running under 11:30 min/mi. I did in fact finish the race and I did so in 2:24:43. Thoughts in general:I trained for two months and I hae to say I’m proud of the fact that I held through with all the training. In the past I would start things and never finish them, but this I did finish so I see improvement. I noticed that I didn’t need to train as much as I initially thought. When I thought about running 13.1 miles I would think, ‘oh wow I’m going to have to run six days a week doing all these crazy runs and exercises.’ Afterwards, I realized that even though 13.1 miles sounds like a lot, you don’t need to train as much as you think you do. At this point I see 13.1 miles as not very much, so I can see a shift in perspective.
I did also notice that I began to overtrain and this was really wearing me down. If I hadn’t stopped training as hard as I was I could have suffered an injury big time and maybe not even have been able to run. The main kicker that really old me that I was overtraining was when my menstrual cycle became irregular. Ladies, if this happens, for a heads up in the future, this means you are overtraining.
I am comfortable now with calling myslf a runner and want to continue this in the future. I plan to spend the summer training so I can try out for the OU Cross Country team; I’m hoping I can get a scholarship = ). I also want to some time int he future do an Iron Man, which is a triathlon. You swim 2.5 mi, bike 112.4 mi and run 26.6 mi.
I have noticed myself really grow after running this race and I feel that doing these endurance sports will continue to help me grow. This won’t be the last you hear of running and biking = )
Take it easy!
